First because I like learning about whats in space. Also i find stars interesting because of how the are formed. And the planets are fun to learn because today we are still trying to get a man on Mars to see if there is life. Astronomy is also my favorite because it is exciting to know the programs and technology we use to put people in space. Technology like the joystick which is how a space craft is controlled. The moon I would have to say was the most interesting because of its different phases.

When we learned about Earth's Atmosphere this was cool. I never knew that there were different parts of the Atmosphere until we learned it. Also I found that what types of things such as clouds are in what part of the Atmosphere.

Geology was also fun to learn about. I say this because I like to know how the Earth formed and what is on Earth. This is interesting for me because there is a bunch of things I didn't know. This includes the different types of rocks and how they form. Also where the rocks may be found.

During weathering and erosion I found it fun. I say this because we got to make a podcast on weathering and erosion. In my group we had a lot of fun with it by trying to make everything cool and exciting.

Earth's waters was also interesting. It is interesting because I never knew that 3% of Earths water is fresh water. Also I liked how we learned about different types of water and about the Everglades. And learning about the river system was also interesting.

Where does Colorado Springs water come from?

Where does Colorado Spring's water come from? 75% of water comes from mountain springs such as in Aspen, Leadville and Breckenridge.Pipes transfer the water down to be stored in reservoirs like Rampart Reservoirs and Catamount Reservoirs. happens to the trees after they get cut down is what I want to specifically research.

2.Conclusions I came to were deforestation occurs because farmers need the land to grow crops to feed the nation. Also more land for the cattle ranchers and cash crops to earn money for tropic countries. Logging is also why deforestation occurs so that lumber jacks can sell the wood to residents for warmth.Deforestation also occurs for building roads to transport goods. Not only is deforestation for this, it's also for Human settlement.

3. If no one listened to my recommendations then the world would be over polluted. Somethings I saw when I was there was a lot of fish, also different cultures sine it passes through South Asia, China, and Vietnam. Where the river is by the Himalayas its colder, but by Vietnam it gets a little warmer.A lot of people go fishing there and bath there also they canoe there. The rivers water goes from slow to calm to fast and then over again. Corps growing near are sugar cane and corn. The fairy bush, bauhinia variegata candida, and the river palm. Animals there are mug pig, basin, tadpoles, and fish. Around this river there is a lot of delta's because the waters force is so big.

Photo of the Mekong River

Earthquake Webquest

1. Where Do Most Earthquakes Tend To Happen?
Most Earthquakes tend to happen on the Plates. They are found on the boundaries of countries along the Pacific Plate.

2 Why do you think that is?
I think this because the plates move and cause waves and result in an earthquake.
3.What is this area called? What are the details of this earthquake? Would people be able to feel this earthquake? About how much more ground shaking would occur for this magnitude earthquake compared to a magnitude 1 earthquake? About how much greater is the energy released with this earthquake compared to the energy of a magnitude 1 earthquake?
The closest earthquake to Manitou Springs is in 194 miles away. Details of this earthquake are the depth is 5 km (3.1 miles) it occurred atThursday, January 15, 2009at 12:10:02 PM. People would be able to feel this because it's 19 miles away from Grand Encampment, WY.

5.Choose one earthquake that has happened in the last seven days. You will be researching that earthquake. Tell me all about it. Are earthquakes common in this area? Include at least one picture, preferably of the earthquake, but if you can’t find one include one of the area. An earthquake that happened in the last hour was in UNIMAK ISLAND REGION, ALASKA. Earth's atmosphere is different from the moons and others because of certain chemicals.Water vaporm, CO2, CH4,N2O, and SO2 are important because they asorb heat from earth. The asorbtion of heat and warm atmosphere is called "greenhouse affect". First is called Atlas which is to launch payload into space. Second is maneuver into proper orbit. Third stage is the payload- satellite or spacecraft.

The Space Program
The space program was to see if humans could survive of the moon. There were two projects, Gemini and Apollo 13. Gemini is the spacecraft that was built for two people. Apollo 13 is when the astronauts got put on the moon in 1969. Apollo became the space shuttle program.

Exploring Space Today
ISS came up with a robot for astronauts assistant. It's solar cells will let it maneuver and a lot more. Also it has a videophone. Intensity is (w/^2h). With the intensity I measured the day and how high the sun went. The lattitude is a verticle invisible line the runs donwn the center of the Earth. The book is about perspective. First in very far. For this book I would use your imagination. You have to think outside the box. Another thing is you have to observe everything. Expecting is an important key to this book. Sometimes things you don't expect are what to expect.

Perspective is very confusing. When you think you see something but when you ask someone else what they see. What happens thats right they see something differrent. Its all because of perspective. That is why perspective is confusing.

In the field we are observing the book or studying it. Like oceanoligist study the ocean. As i said we used observing. When we study the book there was certain things to look for. Look for things that are unusal. Zoom is a great book to have perspective on

Enigma Post Final

Enigma Box

There are five skills scientists use. First is observing which means using the five senses, such as feel, touch, hear, taste, smell and sight. Second is inferring which means explaining what you have observed. Predicting which is forecasting what will happen in the future based on the past evidence. Classifying which is grouping items that are alike together. Making models involes creating representations of complex objects or processes. WE used all of these in the Enigma Box activity. We used them all by relating them to observing.

My observations were the box wasn't see through. Also it had a small and large opening in the top. There was a tube that came out of the bottom side of the tube. Also the box was medium size and was just all black.

What happened was we first poured 100 mill in the box. It did not do anything yet. So we kept pouring more water in. At 200 mill it started dripping from the tube. At 300 mill there wasn't a lot of water in the bottom cup. 470 it just kept dripping. Finally at 500 mill it came out of the tube full blast. I think that inside there is a line it has to fill to. Am I correct.

The Enigma Box was just a tube in side. The water had to flow to a certain point. When it got there it overflowed and came out of the tube. Bassically the tube was in a loop shape. The Enigma Box is just full of allusions.
